Who's who
Janiece A. Wardlow
Educating, Embracing, Empowering youth is my personal life mission. My vision is that I will become the surrogate mother to thousands of children that enter in and out of my classroom. I am Janiece A. Wardlow, and I make things happen.
I have been an educator for the past four and half years. My responsibilities extend far beyond my classroom and school doors. I facilitate, organize, and oversee a great deal of the curriculum at my school. I believe that an educator never stops learning and only those who continue to challenge themselves, can challenge the youth that they teach.
I enjoy professional associations that foster leadership skills and philanthropic in nature. As a member of The Vine Group, I am committed to the mission of poverty reduction through quality education and gender equality in sub-Saharan Africa. As I have been invited to join this group by Dr. Akintunde, I also invite you to join in this great mission.

Tamera Musiowsky Borneman
I am very fortunate to have been introduced to The Vine Group by Dr. Akintunde. He told me about the group’s mission to provide quality education as a means to reduce poverty in sub-Saharan African countries. After learning that I could also directly affect the lives of students wanting and needing better education in Africa, I knew this was an organization that I wanted to be a part of. I quickly became involved in numerous book drives, collecting thousands of unused books to send overseas where they would benefit students and teachers as well. In my 2 years as a member, I have been involved in not only the book drives, but also helped organize aspects of the Jazz for Peace Fundraiser in 2007 as well as the Black Tie Charity Fundraiser in 2008. I am an active member in the group and currently serving as the Interim Financial Secretary.

Lou Reid
Lou Reid is a product of public schooling and knows firsthand as an early childhood learner what it is like not to have adequate supplies and materials to promote ones academic growth. He is well aware of the hardship and struggle that one encounters when going through trying times such as these. Therefore when he was introduced to the mission and purpose of The Vine Group (Collecting and Sending academic support to a country that has approximately 120 children in one classroom with one teacher, there was no question in his mind that this would be a worthwhile venture that he would join and commit 100% of his available time to. Since, Lou has participated in collections of over ten thousand books that have been shipped to various institutions in Africa.
